Where to party in Oxfordshire this New Year’s Eve

As another year draws to a close and Christmas is right around the corner, thoughts turn to the dawn of 2016 and how to celebrate the hope and possibility that comes with the start of another brand new year. If you’re at a loose end this New Year’s Eve, it’s not too late to make plans for celebrating at one of these glitzy Oxfordshire parties.

Spectre party at the Crazy Bear, Stadhampton

Get glammed up and see in the New Year in style with this James Bond-themed New Year’s Eve party at the Crazy Bear in Stadhampton (tickets £95 per person). Running from 7pm to 2am in the Glasshouse, the event has a suitably 007 dress code, “From Dr No to Spectre”, so choose your favourite Bond era and dress accordingly. The evening kicks off with a Lanson Pere et Fils Champagne reception, followed by a lavish banquet of English and Thai food accompanied by burlesque and vaudeville, live music and a magician.

Come the evening, you’ll enjoy a decadent buffet and dancing to the tunes of Eynsham’s resident DJ. In the morning, enjoy New Year’s Day brunch before a late checkout.

New Year’s Eve in London

Venture a little further and celebrate the New Year in the capital, where you can enjoy the legendary fireworks display lighting up the London skyline in person rather than seeing the tiny version on your TV. Spaces along the main riverbank viewing areas are now ticketed due to phenomenal demand, and are sold out, but you can still watch the action from the surrounding streets (get there early to secure your place). If you’re feeling flush, see the whole thing from up above at the glamorous New Year’s Eve in the Sky event at Altitude London (£350 per person), where you’ll be treated to oodles of free food, cocktails, DJs and the ultimate view of the New Year’s celebrations.

Don’t forget to book a chauffeur so that you won’t have to worry about how to get home after all the New Year merriment. We wish you a Happy New Year, and have a safe journey!
